12. Caleb Mills – Florida State to Memphis
2022-23 season stats: 13.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.4 apg
The 6’3 guard was a starter for two years at FSU, averaging around 13.0 ppg and 3.0 apg. His scoring production has been inconsistent, though Mills was capable of big outings when making shots from deep. He had 27 points against Boston College, with 17 coming from the free throw line. Mills also had 21 points in a matchup versus Florida as well.
Memphis loses just about all of its guards so they’ll need a veteran or two to pair with Mikey Williams and the incoming freshmen class. Mills doesn’t need the ball too much and is an okay defender and his combo guard ability will be helpful in the AAC next season as a starter.
11. Jamison Battle – Minnesota to Ohio State
2022-23 season stats: 12.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.7 apg
The 6’7 forward was one of the top impact transfers a year ago, averaging 17.5 ppg. His numbers dipped this past season, including his efficiency from the field. Still, Battle had six games with at least 20 points this year, including a 31-point on the road at Illinois.
Battle will remain in the Big Ten, this time at Ohio State. He’s a replacement on the wing for both Brice Sensabaugh and Justice Sueing as the versatile forward. He’s a double-digit scorer that they can plug in and should fit well next to Zed Key in the frontcourt and take pressure off the young guards.
