Kansas Jayhawks

With Coach Bill Self good to go for next season, it’s about time that they start getting serious in the transfer portal. They’re without Big 12 Player of the Year Jalen Wilson, along with star freshman Gradey Dick. And unless Kevin McCullar returns, there won’t be a single double-digit scorer on the roster.

The frontcourt needs specific help too. Both Ernest Udeh Jr. and Zuby Ejiofor are still viewed as projects at the five-spot, while KJ Adams showed great promise and can play center. Pairing him with Mgbako would be a big move to bolster the offense at Kansas and there’s plenty of playing time available for the future freshman.

Kentucky Wildcats

As a finalist before, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Wildcats reached out again. Adding him would not only solidify them as the clear-cut No. 1 overall recruiting class but it would be a nice dig at rival Duke in the process. But this option would depend on whether or now Chris Livingston remains in the NBA Draft process.

If he comes back, then it’s hard to envision Kentucky being a real player. Especially since they still have to deal with what former NCAA Basketball National Player of the Year center Oscar Tshiebwe does. But in an era where teams are exclusively preferring transfers over true freshmen, Coach John Calipari is one of the few still willing to play the youngsters big minutes and that could work in this player’s favor.
