NCAA Basketball: Ranking final 4 teams for Hofstra transfer Aaron Estrada
2. Kansas State Wildcats
Coach Jerome Tang did incredibly well this past season with a group of former mid-major guards. All-American Markquis Nowell (Little Rock), Desi Sills (Arkansas State), and even former Mississippi State bench player Camryn Carter led the program to an Elite 8 appearance. The roster is also fairly open as well and they’ve yet to add a guard via the portal.
There will be a question as to whether or not he fits as a lead guard at a power conference program. I’d feel better about this fit if the Wildcats were to add a big-time guard first but this does allow Estrada to play more on-ball than he would with the other options.
1. Cincinnati Bearcats
The Bearcats are moving to the Big 12 and need as much talent as possible. They lost both Landers Nolley and Rob Phinese along with David DeJulius, who averaged the team with 14.8 ppg and 5.3 apg. There’s plenty of room in the backcourt for another scorer and Estrada can start here.
Cincy is the closest option to the New Jersey native and they have many selling points. He’ll have the option to have the ball in his hands and likely start as well, getting big minutes at the Big 12 level.
