Auburn has had some good teams in the past couple of years but the one concerning issues have been the backcourt. The trio of Zep Jasper, K.D. Johnson, and Wendell Green has given the team a high floor defensively but a low ceiling on offense, which has been exposed in the NCAA Tournament for the last two seasons.

The group has been broken up, as only Johnson remains to this point. The two guards set to join them seem to be a better fit overall, including incoming five-star point guard Aden Holloway, as well as FIU transfer, Denver Jones. The 20 ppg scoring guard is originally from Alabama and gets to return home to a top-25 caliber roster.

Johni Broome was a quiet success story, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding after transferring over from Morehead State. But Auburn isn’t winning anything big if he’s the best offensive weapon.

Jones and Holloway, along with potentially landing 19 ppg scoring guard Quincy Olivari from Rice would give them plenty of offense along with a team defense that’s already in great shape. And assuming that forward Jaylin Williams comes back for an extra year, they’re a sneaky roster that can make a lot of noise next season.
