2. Michigan State Spartans – +1500

What’s funny about the Spartans’ narrative is that the fanbase was already looking ahead to the 2023-24 season before this past year even happened. Coach Tom Izzo may have ignored the transfer portal but still added several prospects to get a top-5 overall recruiting class for 2024.

Still, Michigan State still managed to be the last team in the Big Ten standing in the NCAA Tournament and was a play or two away from facing Florida Atlantic in the Elite 8. And they’re able to return the vast majority of the players from that roster, thanks to both Tyson Walker and Malik Hall opting for a 5th year.

With AJ Hoggard, Jaden Akins, Mady Sissoko, and top-10 overall freshman forward Xavier Booker on the roster, it’s set up to be one of the most talented in the Coach Izzo era of the last decade. They have a talented and experienced backcourt, a pro prospect, shooting all over the roster, and most importantly, coaching to make an even deeper run next season.

The fact that this team doesn’t even need to make a big splash in the transfer portal this offseason shows that Coach Izzo’s plan has worked. And he’s made deep runs in March with rosters less talented than this. It’s a bad move to bet against him when the games matter and this is a good value if you trust this current roster.
