NCAA Basketball: Top 60 available players in 2023 transfer portal

It’s been a month since the transfer portal has fully opened up for all D-I NCAA Basketball players, with over 1,400 having entered. It includes several former Conference Players of the Year, NCAA Tournament stars, and individuals that averaged over 20 ppg in the past season.

Already, a number of quality players have found new homes. But there are still plenty available that can be picked up as well. Here are the top 60 free agents left, including some honorable mentions.

Honorable Mention: SO Hunter Sallis – Gonzaga Bulldogs

2022-23 season stats: 4.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.4 apg

The former five-star prospect hasn’t lived up to his status out of high school, mainly on the offensive end. But Sallis did manage to get a role on the Sweet 16 caliber program with his defense, known for being able to lock up opposing wings. He’s still a good athlete as well and can play at the power conference level.

HM: FR Yohan Traore – Auburn Tigers

2022-23 season stats: 2.1 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg

The former top-15 overall prospect was not a good fit in the frontcourt next to Johni Broome so going somewhere else is the best move for Traore. He’ll get interest due to his physical attributes but there wasn’t any tape of his freshman campaign.

HM: Jordan Gainey – USC Upstate

2022-23 seasons stats: 15.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.3 apg

The 6’4 guard had numerous scoring outputs this past season, including eight games with at least 20 points. One of them is 28 points against South Carolina State, along with 23 on 5/6 from deep against Charleston Southern.
