Virginia Cavaliers – Frontcourt players

The Cavaliers are finally without long-term starter Kihei Clark and Reece Beekman is currently in the NBA Draft process but with Leon Bond, Ryan Dunn, and Isaac McKneely all back, the backcourt is okay for the team. The frontcourt is the much-bigger priority, as the team lost not only seniors Ben Vander Plas and Jayden Gardner but also centers Kadin Shedrick and Francisco Cáffaro to the transfer portal.

Virginia did get some good news with the addition of Co-NEC Player of the Year Jordan Minor from Merrimack. That’s a good start but the team needs multiple more additions, including a center that can anchor the defense. Question is, will they find one as good as Shedrick was?

Miami Hurricanes – Power forward, backup center

As of now, Miami doesn’t need a guard. That would change if ACC Player of the Year guard Isaiah Wong decides to leave this offseason instead of staying for a 5th year. But with Nijel Pack and Wooga Poplar back, the backcourt will be in good shape.

So is the center position thanks to double-double machine, Norchad Omier. But the lack of depth and size behind him was an issue so look for them to find someone to back him up. The bigger issue is replacing Jordan Miller, who was a key contributor at the four-small. He’s 6’5 so this is a chance for the Hurricanes to find someone bigger to help bolster the frontcourt. Ideally, he can shoot the ball and be a nit fit next to Omier inside.
