The Big 12 was the best conference in the regular season this year. And the best of that group was Kansas Basketball, who finished with 28 total wins and a whopping 17 Quad 1 victories from a resume standpoint. Unfortunately for them, they were without Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self in the NCAA Tournament and lost to Arkansas in the Round of 32 as a result.

It ended the stellar career of Jalen Wilson, who now has both a national championship and Big 12 Player of the Year Award on his resume. The Jayhawks‘ leading scorer is gone, along with freshman star and projected 1st-round NBA Draft pick, Gradey Dick.

They’re two of a number of roster departures, with five others having entered the transfer portal. Forwards Zach Clemence and Cam Martin are gone, while Bobby Pettiford, Joseph Yesufu, and MJ Rice leave the backcourt portion of the roster. Although none of them had huge impacts this past season, Rice is still a former five-star prospect that had long-term potential.

Kansas had a four-man incoming recruiting class but still has three roster spots available. And reportedly, they’ve been very busy in the transfer portal. The program will always be an appealing landing spot for transfers and could land a couple of big fish in the coming weeks.

Here’s a look at the top prospects that the program is after, as well as their chances to land each of them.
