12. Jalen Cone – Northern Arizona to Cal

2022-23 season stats: 17.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.5 apg

The former top-100 prospect went from a good bench player to a very good starter at the Big Sky level, leading the Lumberjacks in scoring for the past two years. Cone shot 40% from three-point range on over seven attempts and had 13 games of at least 20 attempts. One of them was a 38-point effort against Abilene Christian, along with a career-high 45 points on 18/27 shooting against Southern Utah.

Cone joins another impact transfer this offseason in Fardaws Aimaq for first-year head coach, Mark Madsen. Cal was one of the worst power conference teams in NCAA Basketball but already has added talent and still returns Devin Askew for next season as well.

11. Rienk Mast – Bradley to Nebraska

2022-23 season stats: 13.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.4 apg

The 6’9 forward started 79 games for Bradley this past season and was a two-time All-MVC player. Mast was in double figures in 27 of 30 games, including a 30-point effort against Northern Iowa in the conference tournament, along with 13 points and 17 rebounds against Illinois-Chicago.

Mast will be the replacement for Derrick Walker in the frontcourt for Nebraska. He’s a similarly skilled frontcourt player that’ll be part of an offense filled with shooters and can score at the Big Ten level. He and Brice Williams make it for a successful portal week for the Cornhuskers.
