When the transfer portal and one-time transfer rules were first introduced, there was concern from fans, media members, and coaches that the rich would get richer. That the best mid-major players would leave for high-major programs, effectively decimating smaller NCAA Basketball programs.

After watching Florida Atlantic and San Diego State play in the Final Four, it’s evident that the flow of the transfer portal works both ways. It giveth and taketh away.

That’s not to say that all mid-major players will stay put for four years. Most of the players on this list will transfer to high-major programs.

That said, it’s important to note the simultaneous flow of talent in the opposite direction. Matt Bradley is a prime example, transferring from a Pac-12 school to San Diego State and subsequently leading the Aztecs to the Final Four.

In the portal era, a non-negligible number of mid-major transfers have struggled to adjust to power-conference play. For the players on this list, that outcome is unlikely. From last year’s cycle alone, Mark Sears transferred from Ohio to Alabama and was the top-seeded Tide’s second-leading scorer. Norchad Omier made the move from Arkansas State to Miami and was arguably the most important player in the Canes’ Final Four run.

Some of the mid-major level’s top transfers have already committed. Jalen Cook is going from Tulane to LSU while VCU’s Ace Baldwin Jr. heads north to Penn State. Most have yet to commit, though.

Here are the 10 best mid-major transfers who remain in the portal.
