NCAA Basketball: Top 10 available mid-major transfers this 2023 offseason
10. Javon Small – East Carolina
Small only played nine minutes a game as a freshman but averaged 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists as a sophomore. If an official list of the most-improved players in the country existed, he would have been on it.
The South Bend, Indiana, native hit two 3s a game and is an excellent rebounder at just 6-foot-2. He also ranked No. 18 in the nation with an assist rate of 35.5%.
East Carolina has produced several notable transfers in recent years. Jayden Gardner led Virginia in scoring two years ago, and Tristen Newton was the starting point guard on a UConn team that just won the national title. Small is looking to follow in those footsteps as a multi-year contributor at the high-major level.
Small has chiseled his list down to two schools: Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. A Bedlam battle on the recruiting trail.
