Auburn Basketball transfer target – Devan Cambridge (Arizona State)

One of the rare fun parts of the transfer portal is when players transfer out of a program before eventually coming back. There are many reasons why a reunion can happen and it makes sense for both sides.

Yet those don’t truly apply to Cambridge, who after three years at Auburn, went to Arizona State and produced career-high numbers of 9.8 ppg and 5.4 rpg on 50% shooting from the field. He played with his brother Desmond there and they were able to make the NCAA Tournament.

Desmond had no eligibility left but Devan does and has opted to use his final season somewhere else. He’s been linked to Auburn and if there’s room, it makes sense. Cambridge started 33 games and played around 20 mpg in the two years prior and was a solid rotation piece. He’s not a double-digit scorer but when it comes to having a deep bench, he can fit. Plus, there’s already familiarity between the player and coaching staff.

Not knowing what Allen Flanigan is doing and having arguably better options available at the wing at the moment but if he’s willing to commit, Auburn should take him as soon as possible.
