8. Jamarion Sharp – Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

2022-23 season stats: 7.4 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 4.1 bpg

Sharp is a 7’5 center that has led NCAA Basketball in blocked shots in the last two seasons. He had 10 in a game as a junior and this past year alone, had seven in back-to-back games against Tulane and South Carolina State. He’s a two-time All-Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and is an elite interior defender but if you can bring him out on the perimeter, Sharp becomes very vulnerable.

There was a ton of interest when Sharp originally entered the portal but it’s tapered off in favor of some other bigs. There may also be a question as to how good he’ll be against power conference competition. But while it’s not a perfect comparison, Johni Broome, who did similar things at Morehead State, ended up leading Auburn in both points, rebounds and blocks this past season.

7. Ven-Allen Lubin – Notre Dame Fighting Irish

2022-23 season stats: 6.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 0.8 bpg

On a team filled with plenty of upperclassmen, Lubin was able to carve out a role with nearly 20 mpg off the bench and actually started seven games. The former top-60 prospect had 10 points and 13 rebounds against St. Bonaventure and had a season-high 19 points and eight rebounds against Wake Forest.

Lubin has just entered the transfer portal and has three years of eligibility left. Expect him to have a ton of interest in the next week and many power conference programs to reach out for a guy that’ll be on some sophomore breakout lists for 2023-24.
