19. West Virginia Mountaineers

The Mountaineers have a four-man transfer class but it’s the most unique one since two of them didn’t play this past season. After an extremely late coaching change, both Jose Perez and Omar Silverio left Manhattan and sat out. Both have since committed to West Virginia and will be on the roster.

What got the team on this list are the two other pickups in the last month. The first was Kerr Kriisa, who started the past two years at Arizona. The 6’3 guard averaged 9.9 ppg and 5.1 apg this past season and has a pair of triple-doubles in the last two years. He’s erratic and inefficient but Kriisa’s ceiling is one of the highest as a pure ball-handler.

West Virginia also got Jesse Edwards, who averaged 14.5 ppg and 10.3 rpg at Syracuse, along with nearly blocking three shots a game. He’s an All-ACC big man one of the top players overall in the portal. Pairing him with Tre Mitchell is one of the top frontcourts in the Big 12 and gives the team a major lift on both ends of the court.

It’s unexpected to see Bob Huggins of all coaches make moves like this in the transfer portal but these pickups give them talent that can make a big splash in the Big 12. Could they have another big pickup coming their way in the next month?
