1st four commitments for West Virginia Basketball

Jose Perez sat out this past season after the NCAA denied a waiver when he transferred from Manhattan before the start of the season. He averaged 18.9 ppg and 4.5 apg in 2021-22 and was the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year. Perez is a career 30% three-point shooter and has played with three previous stops, including Oregon and Saint Peter’s.

Joining him is another former Manhattan “player” in Omar Silverio, who played four seasons at both Rhode Island and Hofstra. The 6’3 guard averaged 10.9 ppg and shot 36% from three-point range as a senior with the Pride.

Kerr Kriisa is one of the biggest enigmas in all of college basketball. He’s a quality playmaker and has two career triple-doubles but also is a career 36% shooting from the field and is incredibly streaky. It worked out with a similar player in Erik Stevenson so maybe Coach Huggins finds a way to get the best out of him.

Jesse Edwards is arguably the best frontcourt player that entered the portal not named Hunter Dickinson. He averaged 14.5 ppg and 10.3 rpg last season at Syracuse and as an All-ACC defender as well. He’s a massive upgrade at the center position from an offensive standpoint and still should keep the defense at a high level in the frontcourt.
