20. Max Shulga – Utah State to VCU

2022-23 season stats: 11.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.0 apg

The 6’4 guard had a breakout year as a starter, starting for the first time in his Utah State career and shooting 36% from three-point range. He was an all-around playmaker, including 10 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists versus Oral Roberts. Shulga had 29 points on 5/8 shooting from deep against Air Force and had a 10-assist game versus Utah Tech. He also follows Coach Odom to VCU as a likely starting guard who’ll have even more ball-handling duties than he did this past season.

19. Javian McCollum – Siena to Oklahoma

2022-23 season stats: 15.9 ppg and 3.9 apg

The 6’1 guard was a sophomore breakout star at Siena, leading them in both scoring and passing. He shot 38% from deep in two seasons and had 13 games of at least 20 points. One includes a 30-point effort against Manhattan late in the season. He’s the replacement for Grant Sherfield at Oklahoma in the backcourt and will need to be a key scorer for them to be competitive in Big 12 play.

18. Cormac Ryan – Notre Dame to North Carolina

2022-23 season stats: 12.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 2.5 apg

Ryan has started 87 games in five years and is a career 35% three-point shooter. The 6’5 guard had seven games with at least 17 points, including in each of the last three games. He’s a volume shooter and can go off from three-point range and will be a nice fit alongside RJ Davis for the Tar Heels. Ryan isn’t as good a player as the outgoing Caleb Love as the starting shooting guard but should boost the team’s shooting ability.
