12. Jaylen Curry – No. 140 recruit

Curry is a 6’0 true point guard out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and played for Calvary Christian High School in North Carolina. In 21 games this past season, the senior guard averaged 16.5 ppg and 5.4 apg, including a season-high 32-point game.

Curry is a fairly explosive scorer, particularly at getting to the basket. He’s more score-first than a passer but he’s a solid ball-handler as well and is a solid shooter. His recruitment has been up and down at times, having offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Memphis, and others.

Right now, the team that’s been linked most with Curry is UMass. Head coach Frank Martin has a brief history of landing four-star talent, grabbing Tafara Gapare a year ago suddenly out of nowhere last offseason for plenty of fanfare.

Gapare has transferred to Georgia Tech, while Noah Fernandes, the starting point guard for the Minutemen for the last two years, has moved to Rutgers. Freshman Keon Thompson will be back but the team needs another scoring threat in the backcourt. If they can’t get a transfer, Curry would be a legit target with power conference talent to land late in the process.
