When it comes to the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, there’s plenty of debate as to who is the No. 1 overall prospect. A good case can be made for Dylan Harper, a consensus top-5 overall recruit and a 6’4 guard combo out of the state of New Jersey. He’s an elite two-way player, with every measurable being a positive while having a great offensive skillset.

Harper can score anywhere on the court and is a dynamic athlete. Although he can likely play multiple positions, the future freshman will likely be the lead guard and run the offense. Harper is a projected “one and done” prospect for the NBA Draft and stick around for just one year.

Still, Harper would be a major asset for any NCAA Basketball program and recently, he’s down to just five. All of them are big names and have plenty to offer for the five-star prospect. Here’s a look at how he’d potentially fit with each of them a year from now.

Auburn Tigers

The Tigers have had a good run with its guards under head coach Bruce Pearl but after losing Wendell Green, is set to turn the page. They’re losing K.D. Johnson after next season as well and incoming top-30 point guard Aden Holloway may be a one-and-done freshman point guard.

Even if that happens, Auburn already has a five-star commitment in the 2024 class in Tahaad Pettiford. He and Harper would be a nice pairing down the road but the recruit in question would have to play off-the-ball more most likely. Plus, the frontcourt is going to look very different no matter what and that’s something Harper would have to consider when it comes to how viable the roster will look.
