Duke Blue Devils

The Blue Devils only have one commit in the 2024 class in Darren Harris but would love to get a top guard to make another statement on the recruiting trail. Even with a new head coach in Jon Scheyer, it’s clear that the program isn’t taking a step back, as they’re an early pick to be a preseason top-3 team for next year.

Harper would be a starting guard for Duke if he were to arrive, especially if Tyrese Proctor leaves for the 2024 NBA Draft. The concern would be what five-star prospects and incoming freshmen, Caleb Foster and Jared McClain do if they have to come off the bench for two straight seasons. Harper’s commitment would create a roster domino effect later on.

Indiana Hoosiers

It’s been a good start to the Coach Mike Anderson era and he has a nice selling point on the recruiting trail in Jalen Hood-Schifino. He was a five-star freshman prospect that had a very good first year and is now off to the NBA Draft. The team got the news that veteran guard Xavier Johnson will be back for a 6th year and things align to where they’ll need a guard to replace him.

This would be an option where Harper would be not only the lead guard on the roster and have the ball in his hands a ton but he’d also be the best player either. Whether that would mean more or fewer wins for the program is the question but a commitment by him could make Indiana highly intriguing for future recruits.
