Kansas Jayhawks
Under head coach Bill Self, the Jayhawks have had a number of five-star guards join the program. The results have been a bit mixed, with a few recently having transferred out. Harper likely is immune from that and with Dajuan Harris departing, the five-star guard would be primed to take over the offense as the lead guard.
Kansas is a team that always is a contender and competes for Big 12 titles and as recently as 2022, NCAA Basketball titles. Harper would be against the best competition in the sport and play for a Hall of Fame head coach. There just aren’t many points against the Jayhawks’ favor and if he’s willing to move away from home, they make plenty of sense.
Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights have emerged as a nationally recognized program that is consistently making the NCAA Tournament. It’s at a perfect time, as they’re getting the best prospects ever. That includes five-star and top-10 overall commit Ace Bailey, a wing in the 2024 class. He’s close with Harper, who could easily stay home and play for Rutgers, who’ll be a contender if these two pair up.
Noah Fernandes is the starting point guard for this season but he’s a one-year rental. Ideally for the Knights, Harper would be his replacement and set up the most talented roster in program history and one that could set records when it comes to potential accomplishments.
