2. Max Abmas – Guard

Former Team: Oral Roberts Golden Eagles

The guard should not need any introduction. He introduced himself to all of America a few seasons ago when Oral Roberts made the magical run to the Sweet 16. Abmas went off in the tournament and turned being a household name into one of the best careers of any player currently in the portal. The guard is an elite scorer and can score from anywhere on the floor. He is a 36% three-point shooter, one of the best shooters in college from the free throw line, and had a 2-1 assist-to-turnover ratio while leading one of the highest-scoring teams in the country.

He is the type of player who is instantly going to make the rest of the players around him better. There was an extremely long list for Abmas but he has narrowed his list down to Texas, Kansas State, and Wichita State. Wichita State is a sleeper here because of his old coach Paul Mills is now the coach there. Texas seems like the clear-cut favorite for the Texas native.

*Update: Texas landed Abmas on Thursday

1. Hunter Dickinson – Center

Former Team: Michigan Wolverines

The unquestioned top player in the portal is still uncommitted. To be honest, it is amazing that Dickinson is still in college, especially after the domination that he showed his freshman year. He is a skilled player in the post, great with his back to the basket and from 8 feet and in. He isn’t going to handle the ball much. Last season he was deadly from deep and coupled that with his ability to score at will from inside the paint and you have the most dominant offensive player in the portal. The big man is also a fantastic rebounder and has the ability for numerous 20 points and 20 rebounds games.

It was a surprise when Dickinson entered the portal, but when you step back and think about it makes sense given that he can’t accomplish much more than what he already has at Michigan. The big man may set the record for a NIL deal, as some think he may pull in close to 1 million. Kentucky, Kansas, and Villanova are the three favorites for his services.

Expect a lot of movement in the portal over the next three weeks. Things are finally starting to move and rosters are starting to take shape. Transfer season has produced more news than the regular season has and I still have yet to determine if that is a good or bad thing yet. Stay tuned to see who your team is able to secure a commitment from.
