12. Tylor Perry – Guard

Former Team: North Texas Mean Green

North Texas won the NIT, and Perry was a huge reason why. The Mean Green play smothering defense and play a slow grind-it-out style on offense. Perry was the offense on some nights and in a more open system is going to put up huge numbers. He averaged 17 points per game last season and shot over 40 from deep. All of this was while playing great defense. He can take over a game and he never gets rattled.

Perry is one of the very best in college at the point guard position and is going to thrive at his next school. He transferred because head coach Grant McCasland took the job at Texas Tech. Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Ole Miss are firmly in the mix here.

12. RayJ Dennis – Guard

Former Team: Toledo Rockets

This recruitment likely isn’t going to take long, or at least that is what all of the experts say. Dennis has been courted by Illinois for a long time and when he entered the transfer portal on 04/26/2023 there was an immediate crystal ball for Dennis to attend Illinois. The MAC Player of the Year had a tremendous season in his first season at Toledo. The point guard was one of the nation’s leaders in scoring and assists. He had a 4-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and shot 38% from deep. All of this was an extra add on with his defense.

Dennis is a great perimeter defender as his first stop the Boise State Broncos put a premium on defense. The guard is on his second transfer but he is a grad transfer and will not have to sit out. Expect this recruitment to be over soon with Illinois as the likely destination.

11. Primo Spears – Guard

Former Team: Georgetown Hoyas

With as bad as the Hoyas were last season, they did have a few players who drew many suitors. Spears is the most talented of the former Georgetown players and still has two years of eligibility remaining. The point guard is a volume scorer and great passer. He is a point guard, and the ball is always in his hands, and he is very good at making something happen every time down the floor. He has not been a part of a winning program in his brief time in College Basketball, but he is going to get that chance this year.

He is so appealing because he can shoot the ball from deep, at just about 38% overall in his two seasons. He has a good basketball IQ and always makes the right play. Spears is finally going to play for a team that will be spotlighted and will likely get a chance to play in the NCAA tournament this year. Florida State, Kansas, Arkansas, and TCU are the final four teams for Spears.
