On Friday, former Penn guard Jordan Dingle announced his intention to transfer from the Quakers. He’ll be a highly sought weapon who would greatly benefit virtually every NCAA Basketball program in the nation. He arrived at Penn four seasons ago, but there was no Ivy League battle during what would have been his sophomore season, meaning he’s played three years for the Quakers.
A 6’3 guard from New York, he was immediately influential for the Quakers, averaging 13.5 points per game in his freshman campaign to win Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. His free throw shooting wasn’t great as a freshman, but it’s one of the most improved parts of his game, hitting 86% of those shots this past season.
After missing that next season, he came back strong during his sophomore season with an increased role at Penn, averaging 20.9 points per game and earning First Team All-Ivy League honors. Last year’s efforts during his junior season were just as spectacular, with Dingle this time up to 23.4 points per game, shooting just over 46% from the field. He was named Ivy League Player of the Year this past season and led the conference in scoring for a second straight year.
Dingle has played three impactful seasons and is one of the best offensive guards in the Transfer Portal. He enters the Portal late to the game, but there will be plenty of attractive destinations that will be interested in him. We’ll be taking a closer look at eight potential landing spots for Dingle, all of which would make sense for him and those schools for the coming season. Let’s get right into those schools, proceeding alphabetically.
