10. Memphis Tigers
At one point, Memphis had a top-5 incoming freshmen class. It was a 6-man group, led by a couple of guards. But they’ve parted ways with four-star point guard Ty-Laur Johnson in the past week, along with dealing with five-star combo guard Mikey Williams potentially missing time after being arrested back in California for a gun charge.
Still, this is Penny Hardaway, one of the best recruiters in NCAA Basketball, and already has a relationship with Holland from the first go-around. The team still has some talent, thanks to landing several transfers this offseason, including Caleb Mills of Florida State and D-II star, Jonathan Pierre.
Memphis will always be in the national conversation and with Houston off to the Big 12, will compete with Final Four team Florida Atlantic for best in the AAC. And it’s a team that could use a go-to player on offense, which Holland is capable of.
He can follow the path that two other AAC forwards this past season in Jarace Walker (Houston) and Taylor Hendricks (UCF) who put up huge stats and become a lottery pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. But with the unknowns on the roster, it’s hard to have the Tigers higher on the list.
