Memphis Tigers
With Deandre Williams now gone and Malcolm Dandridge’s status now known, the Tigers are in definite need of a big man. They’ve been rumored with multiple big men this offseason, including Jamarion Sharp of Western Kentucky. He’s now at Ole Miss, leaving the program with one fewer option.
Memphis likes to have athletic big men and tried it with Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu last season. Bandaogo would be a big upgrade over him since he doesn’t rely solely on his athleticism to succeed on both ends. Coach Penny Hardaway always gets a big signing and this is an opportunity to land a sizeable pickup.
Michigan Wolverines
Having lost All-American big man Hunter Dickinson, Michigan has just Tarris Reed at the five-spot. He’s still unproven so there’s a chance the team doesn’t want to give him extended minutes. It’s a roster that could use a defensive anchor because the Wolverines’ defense was fairly poor at times last season.
The Big Ten program has landed three transfers so far, including UNC guard Caleb Love. The clear position of need is center and Bandaogo would be a notable action to get some positive momentum for the program. And playing for a long-time NBA big man in Coach Juwan Howard should help as well.
