11. Tennessee Volunteers

There are three players whose statuses are still in question for the Vols. Big man Uroš Plavšić still has another year, while wings Josiah-Jordan James and Julian Phillps are both NBA Draft candidates and rumored portal targets since the roster is full.

The reason why the roster is full is because of three big additions in a span of 10 days to bolster the offense. Jordan Gainey is a 6’4 guard from USC Upstate that had a team-leading 15.2 ppg on 35% three-point shooting, including 24 points against Clemson.

In case either Phillip or James is gone, Harvard transfer Chris Ledlum can fill that void as the 3/4 combo forward. He was one of the top scorers in the Ivy League, leading the team with 18.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg on 47% shooting from the field. And Tennesee managed to add an even better scorer in Dalton Knecht, a 6’6 guard from Northern Colorado that averaged 20.2 ppg and 7.2 rpg while shooting 38% from three-point range.

Leading scorer Santiago Vescovi is back for an extra year and assuming that he’s 100% healthy, point guard Zakai Zeigler will have a ton of options to work with on offense. There are still some questions about the frontcourt but overall, this could be the most potent team in Coach Rick Barnes’ era with the Vols.
