5. Michigan State Spartans

Head coach Tom Izzo clearly marches to the beat of his own drum. Because while all of the other teams have been busy in the transfer portal, the Spartans are now going on two full offseasons of not landing a single free agent. But it’s hard to find the room for any transfers since they’re bringing just about everyone back.

Two of the team’s three seniors have already declared their intentions of coming back. That includes leading scorer Tyson Walker (14.8 ppg), as well as versatile combo forward Malik Hall. While sharpshooter Joey Hauser hasn’t said anything yet, odds are good that he’ll be back.

Guards A.J. Hoggard and Jaden Akins have entered the NBA Draft process but odds are good that they’re back as well. And most importantly, Michigan State is bringing in a heralded incoming recruiting class, led by five-star big man, Xavier Booker.

And even if either Hoggard or Akins aren’t back, there are some talent incoming freshmen guards that can slide into the rotation. Walker showed that he can be the best player on a top-10 caliber team and if the youngsters can have a big impact, Michigan State can get back to being a Final Four threat once again.
