21. Maryland Terrapins

The Terrapins knew early on that they’d be without two starters, as Hakim Hart (Villanova) and Donald Carey (eligibility) both departed. The good news is that they were able to bring back Jahmir Young, who averaged a team-leading 15.8 ppg and 3.1 apg, for a 5th year.

Also back for a 5th season is forward Donta Scott, who averaged 11.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg. He and forward Julian Reese (11.4 ppg and 7.2 rpg) is one of the best-returning frontcourts in the Big Ten and Young is one of the top guards as well.

The team also added a couple of solid role players that have flown under the radar. Chance Stephens is a 6’3 guard that averaged 6.0 ppg as a freshman and shot 37% from three-point range. Jordan Geronimo is a 6’6 combo forward that spent three years off the bench at Indiana but is a solid rotation piece to replace Hart.

Maryland is hoping for one more splash and it would be the biggest possible in Hunter Dickinson, an available transfer from Michigan. He’s been torching the Terrapins in the last three years but by landing him, that could make them a top-10 caliber roster for next season.
