Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks got an open look at Nelson this past season and had to be impressed, as he dropped 20 points on quality defender, Trevon Brazile. He’s back, and the team is reportedly after five-star power forward prospect Ron Holland, who recently de-committed from Texas.

Assuming both Davonte Davis and Jordan Walsh are staying in the draft process, Arkansas could easily take both Nelson and Holland since the transfer can play at the five-spot. They’ve already landed five transfers and if they manage to land them, would be a preseason top-5 team for next season.

Creighton Bluejays

There really isn’t a “local” option for Grant from the Dakota region but one program and area that’s closest is Creighton. The Big East program is coming off an Elite 8 appearance and could return four starters from last season. They won’t have point guard Ryan Nembhard, who transferred out to Gonzaga but replaced him with Steven Ashworth, an elite shooting and ball-handler from Utah State.

Both Ryan Kalkbrenner and Arthur Kaluma are in the NBA Draft process and there’s a real chance that at least one will leave the team. If that happens, the Bluejays will need a frontcourt player that’s ready to play now. And Nelson’s passing ability will be helpful for Ashworth on the offense. It’s an option that could help boost the overall game of the former Bison and make him even more viable for the NBA Draft.
