Hunter Sallis (Wake Forest)

Wake Forest has been one of the transfer portal’s big winners under head coach Steve Forbes, and the Demon Deacons will look to continue that success with the addition of former Gonzaga guard Hunter Sallis.

Sallis never really broke out during his time in Spokane, but the tools are there for a leap in production in his junior year with the Deacs. According to rivals.com, Sallis was the #2-ranked point guard and the #11-ranked player overall when he left high school, and “a very fluid and explosive athlete.”

Wake Forest has been especially adept at getting production out of its guards, so it would be no surprise to see Sallis develop into a reliable scorer and distributor on his new team. Whereas new teammate and fellow transfer Boopie Miller stands only 6’0″, Sallis is 6’5″ and has the ability to guard multiple positions.

Wake has been knocking on the door of being a true ACC contender with Forbes at the helm. Taking a shot on a high upside guy like Sallis is exactly the kind of move that could vault them into the upper half of the conference.
