The first month of the 2023 offseason has been fairly important for many teams in ACC Basketball. After what was considered to be another sub-par season for the league as a whole, there’s plenty of pressure to land as much talent as possible to get the number of NCAA Tournament bids up as a whole.

There’s still plenty of offseason left for teams in the ACC, especially for those that have had a rough start. Going by in order of the regular season standings, here’s how I would grade all 15 programs and what they’ve done so far.

15. Louisville Cardinals – Grade: C

If I was grading the offseason for the Cardinals one week into the offseason, it would be an A+. They landed Illinois transfer Skyy Clark to lead the backcourt, while also adding a pair of top-30 incoming freshmen in center Dennis Evans and guard Trentyn Flowers. Yet they haven’t done much after that outside of recently landing USC transfer wing, Tre White.

The problem is that the roster is starting to look similar to the Louisville team that went 4-28 overall this past season. Clark is the lone proven ball-handler they have, which is exactly what they had with El Ellis a year ago. They also have a ton of forwards and some will automatically be left out of the rotation.

The Cardinals added enough talent to still have hope next season but I’m not sure if it’s good enough to get out of the bottom of the ACC. And if it’s not, Coach Kenny Payne could be in real trouble.
