10. Boston College Eagles – Grade: C

The Eagles were going to lose top guard Makai Ashton-Langford no matter what but they got great news, bringing back Quinten Post (15.1 ppg and 5.6 rpg) for a 5th year. He played like an All-ACC performer when healthy so the team having a focal point of the offense gives them automatic hope.

The only addition to the roster for Boston College has been Claudell Harris, who led Charleston Southern with 17.4 ppg on 46% shooting as a sophomore. If he’s good enough to play at the ACC Basketball level, they can be .500 in league play again. But they’ll need someone else to break out to get out of the bottom tier.

9. Syracuse Orange – Grade: C-

Ending the Coach Jim Boeheim era and going with assistant Adrian Autry may be a good thing for them long-term since they were running into a dead end as a program. The team has landed a couple of good guards in redshirt freshman Chance Westry from Auburn, along with JJ Starling from Notre Dame. Both have three years left of eligibility and will be the starting backcourt assuming that Judah Mintz remains in the NBA Draft.

Losing both Jesse Edwards and Joe Girard are immediate blows when it comes to being competitive but Syracuse has been able to prevent the young players from leaving. Chris Bell, Justin Taylor, and Maliq Brown have potential in the future and while the team will be young, this is a core that can win in the future.
