2. Virginia Cavaliers – Grade: C

There’s a portion of this grade that feels “incomplete” because we don’t know the statuses of guards Reece Beekman and Armaan Franklin. They definitely have lost three other starters, as well as both defensive anchor Kadin Shedrick and former top-60 prospect, Isaac Traudt.

Virginia has added a trio of transfers, including former NEC Defensive POY Jordan Minor from Merrimack, as well as 17 ppg scoring guard Andrew Rohde from St. Thomas. Jacob Groves is a solid starter from Oklahoma but would be a downgrade from what they had before. The offseason has been okay but all eyes are on what the remaining key players left to do with the draft.

1. Miami Hurricanes – Grade: B-

Had this report card been done before Sunday, Miami would’ve had at least a “C”. After making the Final Four, the program was striking out in the transfer portal, despite knowing that they had to replace both Jordan Miller and ACC Basketball Player of the Year, Isaiah Wong. But they were recently able to land Matthew Cleveland, the leading scorer on Florida State last season.

While the other depth might be a question, Cleveland joins Norchad Omier, Nijel Pack, and Wooga Poplar as one of the better groups in the ACC. But in order to remain a favorite in the league, they’ll need to add one more starting-caliber player in the portal this month.
