NCAA Basketball: Joe Girard, Hunter Dickinson among week’s top 25 transfer pickups
19. Will Johnston – Texas-Rio Grande Valley to LMU
2022-23 season stats: 14.5 ppg and 3.6 apg
In his first year as a D-I player, the 6’3 guard was second on the team in scoring and led them in passing, all while shooting 44% from three-point range. Johnston had 19 points and 10 assists vs Abilene Christian and 36 points on 7/13 shooting in overtime against Tarleton State. He’s not going to replace star guard Cam Shelton at LMU by himself but his scoring ability will be a threat to the rest of the WCC.
18. Bryant Selebangue – Tulsa to Arizona State
2022-23 season stats: 12.0 ppg and 9.2 rpg
The 6’9 forward was one of the better impact players from the AAC, making 62% from the field and producing 11 double-doubles. Selebangue had a season-high 24 points and 14 rebounds against SMU and joins Zane Meeks and Shawn Phillips as frontcourt newcomers for next season. His ability to play and defend both positions gives him a safer shot at a rotation spot.
17. Asher Woods – VMI to Tulane
2022-23 season stats: 14.2 ppg and 4.4 rpg
The 6’3 guard was one of the top freshmen in the SoCon, leading the Keydets in scoring this past season. Woods had seven games with at least 20 points, including 21 points and nine rebounds at Fordham. He joins a Tulane roster that’ll need everyone involved to replace star guard Jalen Cook but Woods is a good long-term building block to work with for the program.
