NCAA Basketball: Joe Girard, Hunter Dickinson among week’s top 25 transfer pickups
13. Ahron Ulis – Iowa to Nebraska
2022-23 season stats: 6.1 ppg and 2.1 apg
Ulis started for the Hawkeyes as a junior but was the 5th option on the court. The 6’3 guard still had a few big outings to show that he can score, including 15 points against TCU and a season-high 17 versus Michigan State. Ulis gives Nebraska a point guard to run the offense and replace Sam Griesel and likely rounds out their recruiting haul this offseason.
12. Dawson Baker – UC-Irvine to BYU
2022-23 season stats: 15.3 ppg and 3.2 rpg
Baker has been a double-digit scorer and starter for three years at UC Irvine, leading the team in scoring this past season. He shot 47% from the field, 37% from three-point range, and 80% from the free throw line. The 6’3 guard was in double figures in 32 of 35 games, including a season-high 33 against UC-San Diego. Baker gives BYU another proven scorer in the backcourt as they make the move up to the Big 12.
11. Keonte Kennedy – Memphis to Cal
2022-23 season stats: 9.2 ppg and 2.6 rpg
He never got much attention but whether as a starter or coming off the bench, Kennedy was a consistent contributor in his lone year at Memphis. He shot 38% from three-point range and had a stretch of six straight double-digit scoring games to help get the team into the NCAA Tournament before an injury caused Kennedy to miss the last month of the season. He becomes the latest key pickup for new head coach Mark Madsen at Cal and is likely to start at the wing.
