Memphis Tigers
Memphis is going through some tough times in the backcourt, despite landing FSU transfer guard Caleb Mills. They had to part ways with four-star PG commit Ty-Laur Johnson and might have to do the same with five-star guard Mike Williams, who is dealing with gun charges out in California.
They didn’t get Jaden Bradley a couple of weeks ago and could be still out there to get another ball-handler. Taylor could play in the AAC but still be on a national stage and after seeing how prolific Kendric Davis was as the lead guard, maybe the former Thundering Herd guard can put up similar results.
Ole Miss Rebels
New head coach Chris Beard is slowly building up the roster, having landed two players this far. One is 7’5 center Jamarion Sharp from WKU, while the other is Arizona State transfer, Austin Nunez. He’s more of a combo guard than a true point and after Daeshun Ruffin transferred out, the Rebels don’t have a single point guard on the current roster.
This is a location where Taylor could come in and instantly start. And Ole Miss not only needs the former Marshall guard’s passing but also his scoring ability, assuming that Georgetown and two-time transfer Brandon Murray has to sit out next season without a waiver. Taylor could have a huge role on the SEC program and if Coach Beard gets things going early, could be on a darkhorse NCAA Tournament squad.
