Michigan Wolverines

It’s been a rough offseason so far for the Wolverines at the center position. Star big man Hunter Dickinson transferred out and eventually decided on the Kansas Jayhawks last season. And making matters worse, top-100 frontcourt commit Papa Kante won’t be coming to Ann Arbor either. That leaves Tarris Reed, a former top-50 recruit that played behind Dickinson as a freshman.

Whether Reed is ready for extended minutes or not, Michigan needs frontcourt depth to be competitive next season. And while the roster doesn’t look great, Washington can see how effective the last starting center was and know he’ll have a role in the offense as well and play with a good point guard in Dug McDaniel.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

It’s been an offseason of losses for the Cowboys, especially in the frontcourt. Kalib Boone transferred out to UNLV, while Moussa Cisse, former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, also is gone via the transfer portal. Washington won’t be as good as an individual defender as Cissse was at the five-spot but would be an upgrade on offense, an area OK State was weak at this past year.

The Cowboys landed Jacksonville transfer center Mike Marsh but he’s better as depth off the bench than a starter at the Big 12 level. Washington is a proven contributor at the power conference level and could be a focal point of the new-look roster.
