Thanks to recent de-commitments from Mackenzie Mgbako and Ron Holland, there’s still work to do to finish up the 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. For teams that are done with their work for the incoming freshmen class, they’re turning their attention to the 2024 group, which features a number of top prospects.

One is Boogie Fland, a consensus five-star recruit that 247sportsComposite has ranked in the top-10 overall. Depending on who you talked to Fland may be the best guard in the entire group. He’s one of the best true scorers in the entire class, capable of getting his offense anytime, and gets to the basket with ease. Fland has a solid jumpshot and if he becomes a better three-point shooter, would be almost impossible to guard.

The White Plains, New York native has been dominant on the Nike EYBL circuit and has become a focal point on the recruiting trail for programs. His recruitment has been quiet to this point but there are teams that reportedly have been most aggressive in trying to land him.

In an article from Rivals, Fland talked about setting up potential visits with teams such as Alabama and Michigan, which could be viewed as very early frontrunners to land him. However, there are other teams mentioned in the piece that could get in the mix with the five-star guard.

Here’s what would be considered a way-too-early look at how Fland would fit with each of the six programs mentioned and how reasonable a chance they could have with him.
