UCLA

Last season saw the Bruins make another trip to the Sweet Sixteen and win another Pac-12 regular season title. However, things will look markedly different at UCLA moving forward, with all the stars from the 2021 Final Four team now gone, losing Tyger Campbell, Jaylen Clark, and Jaime Jaquez this offseason.

Mick Cronin didn’t just sit around; he nabbed Lazar Stefanovic, a wing from Utah, and landed a pretty impressive recruiting class. That being said, these Bruins could still use someone with talent and experience in the backcourt. Kaluma fills a certain need on both accounts and could really blossom into a star in the Pac-12. He’d no longer be second (or fifth?) fiddle in the lineup.

USC

Fresh off another trip to the NCAA Tournament, there’s a lot of excitement for the Trojans next season. Boogie Ellis is back, Isaiah Collier is one of the top freshmen in the nation, and the program recently landed Bronny James and DJ Rodman (a transfer from Washington State), who both have pretty famous fathers. Things are coming together nicely for Andy Enfield’s squad, but there are still moves to be made.

There’s still a definite need for talent in the frontcourt, and Kaluma is a rare weapon that can not only score and contribute, but who’s been there on winning programs. The Trojans will be leaning on some young pieces and new faces. Adding Kaluma into the mix would only increase the buzz and would take some of the pressure off Joshua Morgan and Vincent Iwuchukwu.
