Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Cowboys barely missed out on the NCAA Tournament last season despite winning eight games in Big 12 play. The reason was not beating any of the top teams in the conference, showing that there was a clear ceiling with the roster. But the team certainly has the chance to rebuild now.
Not only has the starting point guard (Avery Anderson) moved on to TCU, but just about the entire frontcourt rotation has transferred out as well. That includes starting center and former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Moussa Cisse.
OK State has landed Mike Marsh, a 6’10 center from Jacksonville that averaged 10.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg last season. They’ve also landed a couple of pieces in the backcourt in Jairus Hicklen from North Florida and Javon Small from East Carolina.
They, along with returning guards Bryce Thompson and John-Michael Wright will be a solid backcourt but there is still a need for at least two frontcourt players and another wing. If they don’t, the Cowboys will once again have trouble beating the top tier of the Big 12.
