Memphis Tigers

Usually around this time in the offseason, Coach Penny Hardaway makes some major moves to bolster the Memphis roster, either via the portal or a five-star prospect that’s available. But it feels different this time, with the program recently taking more losses than wins.

With Malcolm Dandridge recently leaving, that leaves the Tigers with no true centers on the roster. Right now, they’d be forced to play Temple transfer Nick Jordain at the five-spot. He’s one of several role players that have joined the roster, with Florida State transfer Caleb Mills as the biggest name.

He may have to start at point, depending on whether five-star commit Mikey Williams is available to play. He’s currently dealing with legal issues so right now, Memphis can’t be sure if they’ll have the combo guard or not. They recently missed out on Alabama transfer Jaden Bradley so will have to go after another guard.

Memphis needs 1-2 more frontcourt players and another ball-handler and without any more class of 2023 players to add, it’ll be tougher than ever for Coach Hardaway to get the pieces needed this late in the game to be a frontrunner in the AAC.
