The Wolverines have been the center of the offseason transfer portal drama. It started with Hunter Dickinson leaving as arguably the best player in the portal. To this point, they haven’t replaced him in the frontcourt, outside of landing backup stretch forward, Tray Jackson.

That made the loss of four-star center Papa Kante even more an issue but there are other needs for Michigan to deal with. They did bring in UNC transfer guard Caleb Love but based on online rumors, it’s not guaranteed that he’ll be on campus.

There’s also Nimari Burnett, a former five-star prospect that comes over from Alabama. The issue with him is that he’s a two-time transfer so barring a waiver, he’ll have to sit out next season. And the team doesn’t have any other options on the wing since Joey Baker moved on this offseason.

Even if we’re to assume that both Love and Burnett are playing next season, Michigan still needs to add another rotational wing and another big man to field a competitive roster. What’s interesting is that they reportedly are hosting Toledo transfer Rayj Dennis this weekend and he’d be a massive pickup for the program and stabilize the backcourt, regardless of what else happens.
