Missouri Tigers
The Tigers have become a late entrant to the “needs” list, despite having a nice start to the offseason. After losing a bunch of senior guards, the SEC program landed three solid guard transfers in John Tonje (Colorado State), Tamar Bates (Indiana), and Caleb Grill (Iowa State).
The issue that has emerged for Missouri is in the frontcourt. They lost Mohamed Diarra to the transfer portal and have tried to replace him. But they’ve lost out on the likes of Kadin Shedrick, Jimmy Bell, and others. So at the moment, they’ll be using a bunch of 6’8 forward Noah Carter as the undersized center.
Another problem that has emerged is starting forward Kobe Brown being a legit pro/transfer candidate. He’s someone that can still enter the portal as a grad transfer if he doesn’t stay in the NBA Draft process, which seems to be a high possibility. The team has landed Campbell transfer Jesus Carralero but he’s more of a role player than a true starter.
Missouri had a nice first year with head coach Dennis Gates but the roster may have taken a step back, especially if Brown doesn’t come back. They’ll need to find one starting-caliber frontcourt piece no matter what and potentially two in the coming weeks.
