NCAA Basketball: Analyzing top 8 options for 2024 top-30 center John Bol
Texas Longhorns
Texas landed Virginia center Kadin Shedrick this offseason, who’ll be a 4th-year senior next season. He and Dylan Disu will be the focal points of the frontcourt but both could be gone, creating a ton of potential playing time for the class of 2024. After Ron Holland and AJ Johnson both de-committed, new Coach Rodney Terry will be looking for his first commit as the leader of Texas Basketball.
The Longhorns are an interesting spot because Bol could get immediate minutes but the jury is still out on Coach Terry as a head coach of such a big NCAA Basketball program and that could be why the 2023 prospects left. If this recruit is willing to wait a bit and see how next season works, he and everyone else would get a good idea as to how the new era of the Longhorns program will go.
UConn Huskies
The center position for UConn looks full at the moment, even without Adama Sanogo on the roster anymore. He hasn’t officially stayed in the NBA Draft but all signs point to him leaving NCAA Basketball. Donovan Clingan could’ve gone pro after his freshman year but he’s back and if he has the national breakout campaign many expect next season, he’ll be gone also.
The Huskies have proven to be a great developer of frontcourt talent and they already have incoming four-star freshman, Youssouf Singare, joining the team as well. So Bol could be in the wings afterward behind Singare but may have to wait a bit for his turn at his spot.
