Mylik Wilson – Houston Cougars

2021-22 season stats (Texas Tech): 2.5 ppg and 1.7 apg

Wilson didn’t play last season after transferring over to Houston. He also didn’t do well at Texas Tech but neither did Jamarius Burton and we all know how they worked out for Pittsburgh Basketball. Wilson’s best numbers came in two years at Louisiana, averaging around 12.0 ppg and 3.0 apg. He’s also a good defender and if nothing else, can give the Panthers a veteran guard with experience in the rotation.

DeMarr Langford – Boston College Eagles

2022-23 season stats: 7.0 ppg and 1.8 apg

The 6’5 guard played three years at BC, starting a total of 54 games. Langford averaged 11.3 ppg as a sophomore and shot 46% from the field including a couple of 20+ point games. He’s not a very good shooter but he’s a proven rotational piece at the ACC level and would be a good platoon piece alongside Leggett at the two-spot. And his size would help the Panthers have an even larger lineup next season.

Jesse Zarzuela – Central Michigan Chippewas

2022-23 season stats: 16.3 ppg and 2.7 apg

The 6’3 guard from Houston, Texas led the team in scoring in 17 games, making 37% of his three-point attempts (7 a game). Zarzuela had 19+ points in eight of those games, including 29 points against Buffalo while playing all 40 minutes.

Between his three D-I stops and two JUCO stops, Zarzeula will be looking for his 6th college stop. Though he’s played just 37 games in the past two years, he’s a talented scoring guard that can create his own offense and play off the ball and is a capable passer (3.0 apg in the last two years).

Reportedly, Pittsburgh Basketball is one of a few teams now involved with the CMU transfer, with Oregon and Arizona also in the mix. After missing out on Thomasson, it looks as if Zarzuela is the next top target for the program.
