When it comes to the top prospects remaining in the NCAA Basketball transfer portal, Tyrin Lawrence is easily one of the best. The 6’4 guard out of the state of Georgia started his career at Vanderbilt with a smaller role, averaging just a few points per game.

However, the junior guard had his breakout year as a full-time starter. Lawrence was second on the team in scoring this past season, averaging 13.1 ppg and 4.4 rpg in 29 mpg. He shot 50% from the field, which is very impressive for a perimeter player, along with 36% from three-point range.

Lawrence had six games of at least 20 points, including a career-high 25 points and seven rebounds against Yale. He also went for 22 points against Arkansas and 20 versus Alabama in back-to-back games. His efficiency and overall athleticism make him not only a good NCAA Basketball player but also a good NBA prospect.

The junior guard had entered the transfer portal fairly but was already in the draft process. There’s a real chance that he stays in the NBA Draft and leaves college but Lawrence could very well return. Considering that the portal has closed for non-grad transfers, those still looking for a veteran guard will be after him in the coming weeks.

There are a few programs that have been in the mix for Lawrence, including a possible return to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Which of the four reported contenders makes the most sense for the junior guard? Here’s a closer look at the potential fit.
