Duquesne Basketball has reportedly hosted both Dusan Mahoric and Collin Moore. What do they potentially bring to the Dukes if they commit?

After winning 20 games this past season, Duquesne Basketball is looking to remain in A-10 contention. So far this offseason, the team landed a trio of transfers in forwards Andrei Savrasov (Georgia Southern), along with brothers Hassan and Fousseyni Drame (La Salle). But they aren’t done yet, having been in the mix for a few different players from the transfer portal.

Here’s a look at the most recent targets for the Dukes.

Collin Moore – Georgia State Panthers

Injuries limited the 6’3 guard to just 13 games this past season, averaging 14.2 ppg on 48% from the field. He also averaged over two steals a game so the idea of him and Tre Clark on the court together would be a problem for opposing offenses.

Moore is a capable high-level scorer, including 28 points and five steals against Marshall, along with 25 versus Texas State. He’s an off-guard that likely would be the first player off the bench behind Clark or Dae Dae Grant but you can also put all three together to have as explosive and offensive lineup as possible.

Dusan Mahorcic – NC State Wolfpack

The 6’10 and 230-pound big man was limited to just 10 games due to injury, averaging 8.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Mahorcic is definitely a journeyman, having played for five teams in five years, both at the D-I and JUCO levels. He’s a physical big man that’s a power conference level talent and would be the ideal replacement for Austin Rotroff at the center position.

Mahorcic suffered a serious knee injury and reports are that he won’t be 100% by the time next season starts. However, Duquesne has a number of seniors and arguably the best chance it’s going to have in a long-time to win the Atlantic 10. Even if he’s not ready to go until league play, the Dukes would benefit from having him when it’s most important, in March.
