NCAA Basketball Central Michigan Chippewas guard Jesse Zarzuela Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports /

4. Jesse Zarzuela – Central Michigan Chippewas

2022-23 season stats: 16.3 ppg and 2.7 apg

Zarzuela is similar to Love in that he’s an explosive, yet inefficient scorer from the field. He has a career 38% shooting percentage at both CMU and Coppin State but showed he can score a lot. The 5th-year senior went for 20+ points in four straight games in January, including 29 against Buffalo.

Zarzuela reportedly will be able to graduate this Summer so that should take care of admissions at Michigan. More importantly, he’s a veteran offensive threat that doesn’t need help in getting his own shot. The 6’3 guard’s recruitment is starting to heat up, with Oregon, Arizona, and Pittsburgh reportedly involved. So it wouldn’t be too late for the Wolverines to try and get into the mix as well.

3. Jaylin Sellers – Ball State Cardinals

2022-23 season stats: 13.5 ppg and 3.7 rpg

The 6’4 guard had a big sophomore year, ranking second on the team in scoring and more importantly, first in three-point shooting at 45%. The All-MAC performer had six games with at least 20 points, including 22 against Michigan on 4/9 shooting from deep.

Sellers is from Georgia but has played his college ball in Big Ten country. He can slide into the two-spot and give Michigan much-needed spacing on the perimeter and can be a top scoring option on the roster as well. He’s recently visited UCF but his recruitment has been slow, potentially giving Michigan a chance to get involved.
