At the very end of the NCAA Basketball transfer portal deadline for non-graduate transfers, there was one last big name that entered. It was Ernest Udeh Jr., a former five-star prospect and High School McDonald’s All-American. He’s a 6’11 and 250-pound center that’s known for being a quality interior defender and rim runner.

Udeh was limited off the bench in his freshman season at Kansas. He averaged just 2.6 ppg and 1.8 rpg in 8.3 mpg. He still managed to make 76% of his field goal attempts (45 total) and proved to be a good defender when on the court. He’s someone that could thrive at a new place and be a breakout candidate to watch as a sophomore.

But where will Udeh ultimately end up? He’s reportedly visited Duke and is linked with a few more teams, as a list has been publicized on Wednesday.

Of those 17 programs listed, not all make much sense. But some of them do. Here’s a list of the top eight that could be a legit landing spot for the former five-star prospect.

8. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

If you’re Udeh, a case can be made that it’s best to find a landing spot that’s just about a guarantee to get plenty of playing time. And what better option than Notre Dame, which is completely rebuilding with new head coach, Micah Shrewsberry? He brought with him Penn State transfer forward Kebba Njie and four-star commit Carey Booth to the frontcourt but Udeh would get the nod over either at the five-spot and have a sizeable role.

7. Georgetown Hoyas

New head coach Ed Cooley hasn’t landed many big names in his first offseason with the Hoyas and still has a few open spots. That includes at center, with either Akok Akok or Ryan Mutombo as the current projected starter. This is a spot for Udeh to play immediately and work with a coach in Cooley that’s known for his development.
