Kansas State Wildcats

After a quiet offseason, Kansas State was able to land Tylor Perry, the Conference USA Player of the Year and leader scorer at North Texas. But they’ll need a little more to help replace the production of star guard Markquis Nowell, along with two other key rotation guards, Desi Sills, and Tykei Greene.

Outside of Cam Carter, there’s no other returning guard on the roster for Kansas State. Four-star freshmen Darrin Ames and RJ Jones could be very good in the future but if forward Keyontae Johnson remains in the NBA Draft, the Wildcats will have lost so much production that it could be an uphill climb to stay in the top tier of the Big 12. After seeing how good another former mid-major guard did for Coach Jerome Tang, Pullin could have a near similar impact.

Louisville Cardinals

To the Cardinals’ credit, they have upgraded the roster from top to bottom after winning just four games total last season. To their discredit, they’re following a similar pattern to last offseason, loading up on wings and forwards and not enough ball-handlers.

The only D-I ball-handler they added was Skyy Clark, who only played 13 games as a freshman at Illinois. Louisville needs to add another ball-handler with experience and Pullin would be perfect for the role. Plus, he and Clark can play together in the backcourt.
